It’s time to celebrate learning!
On June 24, 2013, the Office of the Pima
County School Superintendent is pleased to host the FAIR FOR EDUCATION.

Communities in the U.S. with the highest standards of living can be identified in a number of ways, but one of the common threads is the cultural value that is placed on education.

The FAIR for Education aims to promote the positive influence of education in our community, celebrate learning as a life-long endeavor, and establish education as a ‘cultural pillar’ and central figure to the social identity of Tucson and Pima County.

The FAIR for Education will be an evening to come together and find new resources for enrichment. There will be:

• FREE Professional Development Credit Hours
  
• Demos of physical activities such as salsa dancing, karate, jump rope, and bike riding. These exhibitors have been asked to include audience participation.

• Food truck round-up

• An art gallery featuring young artists, some in elementary school

• Student jazz and other instrumental ensembles in the food court

The FAIR will feature free educational resources for teachers and “Lighthouse Projects” - exemplary projects by master teachers around Southern Arizona that integrate Common Core Standards. These are to be projects implemented by cooperative efforts between higher education and public schools (or private) or between industry and schools. They are innovative and will serve as a model for other educators.

This year the FAIR invites the public to come and celebrate education in our community by presenting a fun, family-pleasing array of educational opportunities for every age and interest.
